Wellspring Church partners with Good News for Asia in Trivandrum, India to provide a safe, nurturing home for orphans and missionary children. For about $1 a day the orphanage is able to provide one child with a safe place to live, where they will receive good nutrition, an education, and medical care - all things they would never have access to otherwise.
The India Orphanage Project, currently in its first phase, will eventually provide a home and education for 150 orphans and 150 children of missionaries working in the interior regions of India. Our goals to complete the project include finishing the new orphanage facility that began construction last year, finding a sponsor for each orphan, and building relationships with our local contacts to ensure the orphanage is creating a maximum impact.
Twice a year, a team of volunteers from Wellspring travel to Trivandrum for about 10 days of teaching the children, developing relationships, and encouraging our partners there. Those who sponsor an orphan are also able to travel with us to visit their sponsored child if they choose.
