Learn. Apply. Unite. Nourish. Community. Hang-out.

What is it? Over these 8 weeks in the summer we will be exploring what we need to focus on to truly live the full life Jesus intends for us. Often we see summer as a time to relax, but it can also turn into a time where we relax in our relationship with Christ. This summer our desire is to be further equipped and living a full life so that we can be better prepared for the year/school year ahead.

Each week will consist of discovering a foundational spiritual component, applying that component to our lives, and hanging out together doing fun stuff outside.

Who’s it for? Open to all who will be in High School for fall 2017

When is it? 9:00am-1:00pm on Wednesdays in the summer beginning June 21 st - August 16 th .(off July 5 th )

What do I bring? Bring your Bible, Notebook and pen as well as comfortable clothing that you can run around outside in. Tennis shoes would be best as we will do some physical activities.

Most weeks we will provide lunch, while other will require students to pack a lunch. I will notify students when they need to pack a lunch.

What else do I need to know? As we get later into the summer the plan is to do some things away from church. We will likely be heading to the beach, local parks and the mall for either our hang-out time and/or looking for opportunities to share the gospel. I will announce and provide more details as these weeks get closer.

Email jboerman@wellspringcc.org if you have any questions about LAUNCH.

Ephesians 2:17-22(HCSB) “When the Messiah came, He proclaimed the good news of peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with the saints, and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the cornerstone. The whole building, being put together by Him, grows into a holy sanctuary in the Lord. You also are being built together for God’s dwelling in the Spirit.”

UNITED desires to be a community where students find their place. In a world that seeks to define people by outward appearance, United is committed to looking beyond the surface and to see the heart. It doesn’t matter where you have come from, what you have done or where you are now, God has a place for you here at UNITED. We exist to unite students to Christ, and to be united in the mission of Christ as we grow together in Him as the church.

This name is chosen for the three goals of the high school youth ministry. First, to UNITE students to Christ. Our relationship with Jesus is the first and only thing that matters in this world. If we get this wrong, then nothing else make sense. And when Jesus is in His rightful place in our lives, everything else can make sense. Being United with Jesus means peace, hope, love, security and purpose in life.

Second, we desire deeply to be united in Christ’s mission. We were once far off, separated from Him, without hope in the world, but He came and got us! We are now His hands, feet and voice to a dying world that lacks hope, peace and purpose. We know the solution to the problem and are committed to seeing the lost found and God’s kingdom established here on earth.

Third, to do these things in a close-knit community with each other as the church. Life is hard, and we were not created to do it alone. UNITED is a place that makes no distinctions based on outward appearance or labels the world may have given but chooses to see each other as God sees. We are committed to growing closer to each other and closer to Him as He builds us into a place where He is uniquely present. United is the church and the church is what Jesus has promised to build, and you are part of that.
