Day 2 - Playground Finished
We started out the day with the groups splitting up. One group, which consisted of the women, did a women's outreach. They walked up and down a mountain talking with the women about our Ladies Day. Our friend Tere helped us with translations and finding our way through the barrios.
Today we are happy to say that our playground is finished! The moment the swings were up, the kids were all over them. They went up the ramp and down the slide over and over again. Because we finished this project much earlier then we planned, we have been given another task. We will be refurbishing their previous playground since it is staying.
Our game today was clothespin tag. Your goal was to have the most clothespins on your clothing than everyone else. All of the groups enjoyed it. The oldest group seemed to have the most fun! Almost all of the kids played and there were only smiles on every child's face.
Today we made crosses out of colored popsicle sticks. They also decorated them with stickers. Every cross was unique just like the kids. Every group seemed to have an easy and fun time with the craft.
For our lesson, Damion shared the story of Daniel and the lions. To get the kids to interact more, he had them roar every time he said "lion". You could tell that the kids loved it. Their roars were heard all the way to the games!
