Abraham is taking a test to prove:
1. To prove that Isaac is not more important to him than God and obeying God.
2. To prove that he understands that Isaac is not only a gift to he and Sarah but also is intended by God to be a gift for the good of others and the glory of God.
3. To prove that Abraham’s trust is in God caring for him – as He has promised – even if he loses Isaac.
God tests us to:
1. To prove that money/possessions are not more important to us than God and obeying Him.
2. To prove that money/possessions are not to be hoarded as a gift only to ourselves, but to be used for the good of others and glory of God.
3. To prove that our trust is in God caring for us even if the money/possessions went away.
