A Denominational Responses to Cultural Shifts

  1. Clamping down on their beliefs while becoming dogmatic regarding their doctrines and traditions.

  2. Embracing liberal ideologies that were contrary to the Bible, some even giving up their belief in the Bible’s authority and inerrancy.

Defining Characteristics of a "Bible Church"

  1. Belief in the inerrancy and infallibility of the Bible.

  2. Belief that the Bible accurately interpreted and taught is sufficient for a church and its individuals to grow spiritually.

  3. The Bible, therefore, should be preached and taught book by book, verse by verse, exegetically – allowing the Spirit to empower the listener with application to their individual life.

  4. The Bible should be used as a guide to leading each individual church in its polity and various functions. 

  5. The central focus of all ministries within the church should be instilling a love for and a knowledge of the bible. 

Distinguishing a "Bible Church" from a particular denomination:

  1. Non-Denom. Bible Churches consists of people from various faith traditions/denominations. 

  2. There is not a major focus on Systematic Theological beliefs.

  3. The church is made up of diversity regarding politics and political issues. 

  4. We have great diversity concerning the charismatic gifts.
