Elder & Deacon Nominations
MARCH 22-APRIL 20
We invite you to take part in an important moment for Wellspring Church! We are seeking nominations for godly men to serve as elders—replacing those rotating off the board this fall—and as deacons, stepping into roles of service and leadership.
Biblical Qualifications
Elders (Overseers/Pastors) – 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9
Elders are spiritual shepherds who provide leadership, teaching, and oversight for the church. They must be:
Men of strong character – Above reproach, faithful in marriage, self-controlled, and wise.
Able to teach and lead – Grounded in sound doctrine and able to instruct others.
Servant-hearted and humble – Not given to quarrels, greed, or arrogance.
Faithful in family life – Leading their household well and respected in the community.
Deacons – 1 Timothy 3:8-13
Deacons serve the church by meeting practical needs and supporting ministry efforts. They must be:
Men of integrity – Worthy of respect, sincere, and self-controlled.
Committed to the faith – Holding firm to the gospel with a clear conscience.
Faithful in family and personal life – Devoted in marriage (if married) and responsible in their household.

We ask you to pray and seek God’s direction on who He is calling into these roles. When He places a name on your heart, use the form below to submit your nomination.

You are welcome to remain anonymous. Please make your submissions no later than Monday, April 20. Please see below for Deacon and Elder Qualifications.
Elder and Deacon Nomination Timeline 2026
March 22 – April 20 → Open Nominations
The congregation submits nominations for elders and deacons.
April 20 - May 5 → Nominations Reviewed
Elders review submissions and begin a week of prayer.
May 13 – 31 → Nominations Vetted
Selected candidates go through interviews and application processes.
June 2 → Current elders interview nominees for elder
July 7 → Final Elder Approval
After a month of prayer, elders finalize the list of candidates.
July 26 → Congregation Informed
Candidates for elders and deacons are announced to the church.
August 9-23 → Absentee Ballots Available
Church members who cannot attend the vote can submit their ballots.
August 23 → Member Vote of Affirmation
The Wellspring Membership votes to affirm new elders and deacons at the Annual Meeting.
